Abstract

The objective of the study is to describe the situation of using the OraQuick HIV test kit through the website and connecting HIV treatment and preventive services. The cross-sectional descriptive study on 838 service users, who are living in Hanoi at the time of registering to receive HIV test kits through the website. The results showed that the majority of users were between the ages of 21 - 30 (70.4%), and most of them were men who had sex with men (89.4%). More than one-third of the subjects had never been tested for HIV, and only 8.6% of the subjects used PrEP for pre-exposure prophylaxis. 84.1% of subjects who received test kits, and 66% of subjects responded to test results. The service found 5.4% of participants to have HIV infection, 84% of which were confirmed and 76% of them were treated HIV. 14.3% of subjects who have negative results of HIV were enrolled in PrEP for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis.
