Abstract

The studies aimed to further clarify the association between BMI index, HbA1c status, and renal function with peripheral nerve damage status in 61 patients with type 2 diabetes in order to have an early detection strategy and timely treatment intervention, we found: The difference in the rate of nerve damage between groups with diseases less than 5 years, from 5 to 10 years and over 10 years is not statistically significant with p > 0.05. The rate of nerve damage in the group of patients with poor blood sugar control increased significantly compared to the group with good blood sugar control (p < 0.05). The rate of damaged nerves in type 2 diabetic patients with decreased renal function with GFR <60 ml/ph/1.73m2 was higher than in patients with normal renal function with GFR≥ 60 ml/ph/1.73m2. The difference was statistically significant with p < 0.05. The proportion of damaged nerves between the groups of thin, medium, and overweight states was not statistically significant with p > 0.05. In patients with type 2 diabetes, the status of nerve damage is significantly associated with diabetes duration, the level of HbA1c control, and the state of renal function GFR; No correlation was found with BMI.
