CLINICAL CHARACTERISTIC, IMAGING FINDING AND SURGICAL RESULTS OF CERVICAL SPINAL TUMORS IN VIET-DUC HOSPITAL IN 2019-2020

Abstract

Objectives: assessment of surgical results of cervical spinal tumors in Viet-Duc hospital in 2019-2020. Patients and methods: A retrospective, cross-section, and descriptive study with 42 patients who were diagnosed and treated with cervical spinal tumors in Viet-Duc hospital from Jan 2019 to June 2020. Results: patient's mean age was 40. Female was predominant than male. Onset time was most common within six months.  Local pain and neurologic disorders were the most common signs and symptoms. There was sixty-nine percent of patients had upper cervical spinal tumors. Total removal of tumors was taken in 54.8% of the patients. Schwannoma was the most common histologic result. Neurologic improvement archived in 71.4%. Conclusion: Surgery was the mainstay, safe and effective method for cervical spinal tumors.
