THE ROLE OF ULTRASOUND IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND EVALUATION OF UTERINE FIBROIDS BEFORE TREATMENT

Abstract

Purposes: Study on 78 uterine fibroid patients treated at hospital E during the period from January 2019 to April 2020. Results: mean age 45.3 ± 5.2, age group from 35-50 was 79.5%, lower abdominal pain 46.1%, abnormal vaginal bleeding 38.5%, clinical examination: the uterus was as large as 9-12 weeks pregnant have the rate of 55.1%, uterine fibroids with hypoechoic characteristics accounted for 61.5%, 91.0% borderline, no fibrosis 89.7%, no angiogenesis 92.3%, fibroids in the uterine body accounted for the highest rate 92.2%, in muscle 90.7%, most had 1 tumor 61 .5%, average size is 75.2 ± 28.3mm, mass with size from 50-100mm accounts for the highest rate 66.7%, size of uterine fibroids according to ultrasound and size of uterus Clinical examination had a linear correlation with R = 0.693 (p < 0.001), ultrasound diagnosis of uterine fibroids has an accuracy of 93.1%. Conclusion: Ultrasonography has high accuracy in diagnosing uterine fibroids, helping to assess the number, location, size of uterine fibroids and preoperative pelvic overview, uterine size through clinical examination with size. Uterine fibroids on ultrasound have a fairly close correlation.
