EVALUATION OF SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION AND SOME ASSOCIATED RISK FACTORS IN BREAST CANCER PATIENTS WITH ENDOCRINE THERAPY AT NATIONAL CANCER HOSPITAL IN 2022

Abstract
Objective: Evaluation of sexual dysfunction and some related factors in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine treatment at national cancer hospital in 2022. Subjects and research methods: The study describes 213 breast cancer patients have adjuvant treatment with endocrine therapy at National cancer hospital from 8/2022 to 12/2022. Results: The most common age is ranged 40-49 years old. The percentage of patients in stage I + II accounted for 79.4%. Patients treated with surgery + chemotherapy + endocrine therapy ± radiation therapy accounted for 94.8%. The rate of general sexual dysfunction is 70.4%, of which stage 0, I, II III had the rate of sexual dysfunction accounting for 33,3%, 71,7%, 67,9% and 81,6%, respectively. Patients treated with ovarian suppression function therapy had a rate of sexual dysfunction of 80,5% compared with an untreated rate of 64,1% (p=0,011). The proportion of patients with sexual dysfunction in the group who did not receive counseling at discharge was 76%, so with 22.7% in the group who received counseling (p<0,001). Conclusions: The percentage of sexual dysfunction in breast cancer patient treated with endocrine therapy is high, especially with stage III, suppression of ovarian function.
