THE CHARACTERISTICS OF DEPRESSION DISORDER IN COVID-19 INFECTED PATIENTS IN INSOLATION AREAS IN THE COMMUNITY

Abstract

Objective: The prevanlence of depression disorder in Covid-19 patients in an isolation area in the community in Ho Chi Minh city was investigated in the present study. Subjects and methods: A total of 130 Covid-19 patients was recruited from september to november, 2021 in Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh city and asked to answer the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21). Results: The prevalence of covid-19 patients with depression disorder was 15.6%. The body mass index was significantly and positively correlated with the scores related depression disorder. The depression scores was signficantly higher in the group of the patients aged from 40 to 60 years than those in the groups of the patients with their age less than 40 years old. Conclusion: Increased prevalence of depression disordes was found in covid-19 patients in the isolated area in the community in Ho Chi Minh city.
