CLINICAL AND PARACLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF POSTNATAL BREAST ABSCESS AT NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY

Abstract
Objective: To study and describe the clinical and subclinical characteristics of postpartum breast abscess woman and the breast abscess treatment at National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology (NHOG). Subjects and methods: a cross sectional study, collecting all breast abscess patients who came for examination and treatment at NHOG from August 2020 to June 2021. Results: Patients with breast abscess were common from the first to the fourth month after birth, often had a localized abscess and had a normal white blood cell count. All patients had an incision to drain the breast abscess, the main incision was the radial incision. The treatment time is less than 15 days, the abscess size is less than 5cm and the radial incision increases the cure rate in breast abscess patients. Conclusion: Treatment of breast abscess with drainage incision is an effective method and at post-procudere time, most patients still breastfeed on both sides.
