Abstract

Introduction: The results of the surgery to treat close forearm bone fractures in children at Viet Duc University Hospital. Subjects and methodology: A retrospective and non-controlled cross-sectional descriptive study on 63 patients diagnosed with close forearm bone fractures from 4-16 years old who were treated with ostomy surgery at Viet Duc University Hospital. Result: The majority of patients were between 11-16 years old at 84,1%, the mean age is 12,7±2,7, in which men accounted for a higher proportion with 87%. Traffic accidents and daily–life accidents account for the highest percentage of injuries with 87,3%. According to the AO classification, the A class is 95,2%, the B class is 3,2%  and the C class is 1,6%. The overall good result accounted for the high rate of 93,7%, the medium was 6,35 and there was no poor case. Conclusion: A forearm bone fracture is a common fracture in upper extremity trauma and affects the function of the forearm. Open reduction internal fixation to correct and restore anatomy, fix the fracture firmly, create conditions for early rehabilitation after surgery and bring good results to the patient.
