LAPARO – THORACOSCOPIC ESOPHAGECTOMY FOR TREATMENT ESOPHAGEAL CANCER AT BACH MAI HOSPITAL

Abstract
Aims: The research aims at evaluating the initial result of laparo-thoracoscopy in esophageal cancer treatment at Bach Mai hospital. Material and methods: Describe the technique and result of laparo-thoracoscopic esophagectomy in esophageal cancer patients who had surgery at the Department of general surgery of Bach Mai hospital. Results: A total of 20 patients was performed surgery from 2/2020 to 2/2021. Male / female ratio = 10/0. 100% of patients were placed in prone position at thoraco-stage; in supine position at laparo-stage. All cases were successfully implemented, 19 cases with anastomoses on neck, 1 case with anastomosis in thorax. The average surgery time is 280 minutes, the average hospitalization time is 9,4 days. There are no intraoperative catastrophes. Complications: 1 case with anastomotic leak, 1 case with pleural effusion. Conclusion: Esophageal cancer treatment by laparo-thoracoscopic surgery initially shows feasibility, early recovery and few serious complications.
