HIỆU QUẢ CỦA CAO UP1 TRONG VIỆC GIẢM TÁC DỤNG KHÔNG MONG MUỐN CỦA PHÁC ĐỒ PACLITAXEL - CARBOPLATIN TRONG ĐIỀU TRỊ BỆNH NHÂN UNG THƯ PHỔI KHÔNG TẾ BÀO NHỎ GIAI ĐOẠN IIIB- IV

Abstract

Objective: To study on using UP1 extract in limitting the side effects of paclitaxel-carboplatin fomular on clinical and laboratory non-small cell lung cancer stage IIIB-IV. Subjects and method: 60 patients with diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer stage IIIB-IV  were divided into 2 groups. The study group includes 30 patients treated by chemotherapy (Paclitaxel-Carboplatin) combined with orally administered UP1 extract 90ml per day. The control group includes 30 patients treated by Paclitaxel-Carboplatin fomular. The duration of treament in both groups was 3 periods with 21 days per each period. Results: In clinical, symptoms of nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy in the study group were less than the control group with p<0,05. In laboratory, the decrease of white blood cell after chemotherapy in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (p<0,05). The decrease of amount of red blood cell, platelet and the increase of bilirubin an aminotransferace (AST, ALT) was not different between the two groups. Abnormal findings in kidney function were not seen in both groups. Conclusion: The UP1 extract worked well in reducing symptoms of nausea and vomitting and in limitting the reduction of while blood cell for patients with non-small cell lung cancer stage IIIB-IV treated by Paclitaxel-Carboplatin.
