Abstract

Perforation of duodenal ulcers is one of the common surgical diseases that require emergency operation. Laparoscopic is increasingly popular on selected subjects with good results such as short hospital stay, less pain, reduced risk of intestinal adhesions and wound infection. Aim: to evaluate the results of laparoscopic surgery to suture the perforated duodenal ulcers. Subjects and methods: retrospective description of patients operated at Bach Mai Hospital from 1/2018 to 12/2019. Results: there were 64 patients including 2 versus open surgery. Young ulcer was 72.6%, ulcer size 5-10mm was 85.5%, simple suture was 77.3%, omental patch was 22.7%. The average of washing liquid was 1452.3 ± 875.2ml. The operative time was 69.3 ± 20.1 minutes. There were no complications and death. The duration of hospital stay was 6.0 ± 1.1. Conclusion: laparoscopic surgery is an effective treatment method for the perforated duodenal ulcers, short hospital stays, no complications and death.
