Abstract

Objective: To describe and investigate on the status of hyperglycemia and the result of treatment in pregnant woman with gestational diabetes mellitus after using antenatal glucocorticoids therapy for fetal lung maturation at Ha Noi obstetrics and gynecology hospital. Method: A cross- sectional study of 50 gestational diabetes mellitus patients who were prescribed glucocorticoids for fetal lung maturation at Ha Noi obstetrics and gynecology hospital from January to October 2022. Results: The percentage of patients whose glycaemia values did not reach the target increased after glucocorticoids injection, peaked on day 2 and day 3 in more than 80% and gradually decreased by day 7. Conclusions: After glucocorticoids injection, glycaemia increased higher than normal, especially on day 2 and day 3 after injection and gradually decreased until day 7.
