Abstract

Objective: Description of clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with wisdom teeth that are implicitly misaligned and indicated for surgical tooth extraction according to the classification of Parant II-III who come for examination and treatment at OSRCAST, School of Dentistry, Hanoi Medical University in 2021. Method: 64 patients who came to have wisdom teeth extraction according to Parant II and III classifications at the OSRCAST, School of Dentistry, Hanoi Medical University were asked about their illness, clinical examination and Panorama x-ray. Research variables include age-gender; mandibular wisdom tooth position (RKHD); position of depth of RKHD relative to 2nd molars; RKHD correlation with jaw bone width. Results: The mean age of patients was 26.98 ± 7.88 and there was no gender difference. The rate of wisdom teeth in the lower jaw was misaligned, accounting for the highest rate: 76.6%. In which, the proximal teeth deviated from 45-70 degrees accounted for the most proportion: 35.9%. The distance between the distal side of tooth 7 to the anterior margin of the ascending branch was greater than or equal to the size of the mesial and distal crown of the crown 8 accounting for the most proportion: 70.3%. The highest score of crown 8 is higher or equal to the chewing surface of tooth 7, accounting for the most percentage: 53.1%. Conclusion: The average age of the patients was 26.98 ± 7.88 and female accounted for a higher proportion than male. The lower wisdom teeth according to the Parant II-III classification are mainly deviated near, with the highest point equal to or higher than the chewing surface of the next 2nd molars, the distance between the distal side of the 7th tooth to the anterior edge of the ascending branch is large. greater than or equal to the proximal and distal size of the crown.
