Abstract

Objectives: Analyze the need for palliative care of pediatric cancer patients being treated at K Hospital at Tan Trieu campus in 2022. Subjects and research methods: cross-sectional description conducted on 203 parents of pediatric patients to assess their child's need for palliative care with a 3-level need assessment questionnaire with 34 sub-categories in 5 palliative care content: Support needs physical; Psychologically, spiritually; Communication and relationships; Finance, social welfare; Medical information. Data analysis on SPSS 20.0 with tables describing the frequency and proportion of needs. Results: the need for medical information support accounted for the highest proportion 91.1%, followed by the need for psychological and spiritual support 65.5%, the need for financial and social welfare accounted for 58%, The lowest is the need for communication and relationship (28.6%). Conclusion: The palliative care needs of pediatric cancer patients focus a lot on supporting medical information; psychological, spiritual and financial support, social welfare
