Abstract

Objective: evaluate the results of LDL-C control in using drugs to treat dyslipidemia and some factors related to treatment results. Methods: Cross-sectional description on 222 patients treated at the outpatient clinic of a hospital in Can Tho from April 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. Results: the rate of patients reaching the treatment goal was 20.7%, the proportion of patients not reaching the treatment goal accounted for 79.3%. Patients with lower cardiovascular risk had a treatment target rate of 30.6%; 16.2% higher than patients with very high cardiovascular risk (OR = 3.778; 95% CI = 1.336 – 10,682; p = 0.012). For every 1 year increase in age, the patient reached the treatment goal increased by 1,076 times (OR = 1.076; 95% CI = 1.018 – 1.136; p = 0.009). Conclusion: the percentage of patients reaching the LDL-C target in the study was still low, there was a statistically significant relationship between the age factors, the patient's cardiovascular risk and the outcome of reaching the LDL-C treatment goal.
