Abstract

Objectives: Evaluation the Clinical and subclinical characteristic of benign thyroid nodules in pediatric patients who were treated by TOETVA. Subjects and methods: Descriptive and prospective study on 13 eligible patients received TOETVA in Department of Oncology and Palliative Care from 02/2021 to 10/2022.  Results: Mean of age was 15.77 ± 3.27 (8-18) age; with 76,92% female patients. 76,92% of cases present with neck mass and all patients (100%) have palpable tumors. The tumors in one-side were 84.6%, with 57.4% in the right lobe. Mean diameter of largest tumors 26.46 ± 5.28 mm (20 – 37) mm, mainly tumors size from 20-30mm (69.2%). Cytological results were 100% benign. Conclusion: TOETVA can be applied in treatment of benign thyroid nodule in children’s patients.
