Abstract

Background: The link between tuberculosis and malnutrition has long been known. Tuberculosis causes malnutrition and malnutrition weakens immunity, thereby increasing the chance that latent TB will develop into tuberculosis. Most TB patients lose weight and lack vitamins and minerals. Objectives: Analysis of some factors related to nutritional status of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Department of Respiratory Tuberculosis of the National Lung Hospital in 2019. Methods: Cross-sectional survey, quantitative research. Results: Multivariate analysis showed that there were 5 factors that were statistically significantly associated with the nutritional status of patients, including: gender, place of residence, marital status, type of tuberculosis and patient's knowledge (p<0.05).
