Abstract

Objectives: The evaluate preliminary results of using the local pedicle flap in the soft tissue reconstruction of  fingers at Thai Nguyen national hospital. Material and method: From January 2020 to January 2023, 30 flaps were used in the reconstruction of soft tissue defects in  fingers for 28 patients at the Department of Traumatology – Orthopedic. There  were 15 males and 13 females, with an average age of 35 (range 18 to 60) years. The average follow-up time was 28 months. The clinical outcome was assessed by a Self-Designed Tool based on flap survival, coverage of defect. There were no cases of bleeding at the donor and recipient sites, no infection at the donor sites. There are 1/30 infected fingers where the flap is received. There are 4/30 flaps with partial necrosis of less than 1/3 of the area, 12/30 flaps have temporary venous stasis in the flap. Conclusion: The local pedicle  flap are trustful material to reconstruct soft tissue defects of fingers.
