SURVEY “BITTER EGGPLANT” (SOLANUM INCANUM L.) HARVESTED IN DAK LAK PROVINCE WITH THE ANTIOXIDANT EFFECTS

Abstract

The results of morphological and anatomical plant analysis, compared with references, have determined that the scientific name of the research material collected in Dak Lak province is Solanum incanum L.. Evaluation of antioxidant activity of fractional extracts by DPPH and Xanthin Oxidase methods, the results of alcohol extraction of 96% of flowers, green fruits, yellow ripe fruits and ethyl acetate fraction showed strong antioxidant activity at the concentration of 62.5 µg/ml. This is the first published result that has determined the scientific name and antioxidant activity of “bitter eggplant”, providing the initial database on research and development of medicinal herbs of Dak Lak province.
