Abstract

Objective: Assessing student satisfaction about the medical ethics education program of Nam Dinh University of Nursing. Subjects and methods: The study was conducted on 300 full-time students of Nam Dinh University of Nursing  from January to May 2021. With the research method the analytical cross-sectional descriptive, the sample size was selected according to the one-proportion estimation method. Results:  Research results show that the majority of students are satisfied/very satisfied with the training program and training content, accounting for over 70%. Regarding teaching methods of medical ethics, only over 60% of students rated satisfied/very satisfied. Regarding the textbooks/study materials for medical ethics, the percentage of students who rate that they are satisfied/very satisfied is only close to 50%. Among the medical ethics content students want to be added to the curriculum, the content "Ethics in communication with patients, patients' families, the community" accounts for the highest rate of 74.3%, after then to the content "Ethics in communication with colleagues" and "Ethics in examining and treating patients". Conclusion: The majority of students are satisfied/very satisfied with the training program and training content as well as the teaching methods of medical ethics of the University, however the percentage of students are satisfied/very satisfied with the curriculum/materials Medical education is not high.
