IMPACTS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON LIFESTYLE OF VIETNAMESE PEOPLE

Abstract

Objective: Assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on lifestyle of Vietnamese people in 2020. Subjects and research methods: A cross - sectional descriptive study through self reported online of 383 adult Vietnamese people. Results: The majority of participants was aged between 18-24 years old (47.3%), 45% was single, unmarried, 76.5% male. The number of people reporting that they did vigorous physical activity for at least 10 minutes 3 or more days a week accounted for 52.7%. During the pandemic the time for using cellphone was averaged 8.04 per day, and time for sitting in the chair was 8.4 per day. Conclusion: The Covid-19 pandemic has negatively impacted people's lifestyle and health, so it is necessary to have timely instructions for people to improve their lifestyle during the period of isolation, social distancing or work at home.
