Abstract

Research objectives: “Assessment the nutritional status of ovarian cancer patients at National Cancer Hospital in 2018-2019”. Method: A cross-sectional study on 129 ovarian cancer patients 18 years and older and treated at National Cancer Hospital. Results: In our study, according to body mass index (BMI), the proportion of patients with chronic energy deficiency is 15.5% , overweight and obese is 24.8%. Classification of nutritional status according to serum albumin concentration, nearly 1/5 of the total patients had mild and moderate malnutrition (17.1%), no patients had severe malnutrition by albumin; the number of people suffering from malnutrition before and after surgery accounted for 25% and 56.2%, respectively; the rate of malnutrition in patients under 60 years old accounted for 12.6%, from 60 years old and above accounted for 26.2%; the number of people suffering from malnutrition in stage I, II, III and IV accounted for 5.9%, 16.7%, 29.4% and 13.3% respectively: Conclusion: The number of malnourished  ovarian cancer patients accounted for a low rate. In particular, the rate of malnutrition in the group over 60 years old, the late stage of the disease and the time after surgery was higher than the other groups.
