Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of some intervention solutions to improve the knowledge of sterilization - Sterilization of medical instruments at Tue Tinh hospital. Research subjects and methods: 101 medical staff in the departments used/handled medical instruments of Tue Tinh hospital. The intervention study evaluated before and after without a control group. Results: The average total score of basic knowledge on sterilization and sterilization of medical instruments of medical staff increased from 13.58±7.12 before the intervention to 22.99±5.77 after the intervention. (p<0.001). The percentage of health workers with general basic knowledge on sterilization and sterilization of medical instruments increased from 42.9% before the intervention to 71.3% after the intervention (p<0.001). Conclusion: The intervention program has brought positive results such as: The knowledge of medical staff about sterilization - Sterilization of medical instruments has improved significantly, specifically. This study also shows that our intervention solutions are appropriate, feasible and effective.
