Abstract

Objectives: Evaluation of the results of laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal repair of inguinal hernia. Subjects and methods: A descriptive study of 69 patients with inguinal hernia and were treated by laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal repair (TEP) at Nam Dinh province's general hospital stage 2020 - 2022. Results: 69 male patients with mean age was 54.3 ± 13.3 years old. The postoperative hospital stay was 5.7 ± 1.8 days (3-8 days). The most common surgical complication was peritoneal tear accounts for 11.6%. Distant results have 97,1% good, 2.9% relapse. Conclusion: Laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal repair is a safe and effective method in the treatment of inguinal hernia with low complication and recurrence rates.
