Abstract

Objective: To describe the current status of knowledge about gastritis treatment adherence of mothers whose children visit at National Children's Hospital in 2022. Method: An cross-sectional descriptive study was performed among 158 mothers whose children visit at National Children's Hospital from May 2022 to June 2022. The self-administrated questionnaire based on the pediatric treatment protocol for peptic ulcer and evaluation documents quality and effectiveness in the care of patients with gastritis. Results: Most of the mothers answered that children with gastritis must take full medication according to the doctor's instructions (95,6%). However, 49,4% of mothers said that pain relievers should be given to their children whenever their children had colic and 48,1% of mothers said that treatment should be stopped as soon as the child felt better. Conclusion: Knowledge of mothers' adherence to gastritis treatment is relatively good. Besides, there is still some incorrect knowledge that needs to be changed for better child care..
