THE BURDEN OF CAREGIVERS FOR PATIENTS WITH COPD AT LUNG HOSPITAL OF NAM DINH PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives: (1) To assess the burden of caregivers with COPD at Lung Hospital of Nam Dinh Provincial in 2020. (2) To identify some factors related to the burden of caregivers with COPD at Lung Hospital of Nam Dinh Provincial. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 96 caregivers of patients with COPD being treated at the Respiratory Department, Lung Hospital of Nam Dinh province from September 2020 to June 2021. Results: - The burden of caregivers is serious and very serious, accounting for 58.3%. The mean score was 42.1 ± 9.82 (points) for ZBI test. There was a positive relation between the burden of care and the age of the caregiver, the time of care for the patient/day, the quality of life, and the patient's level of anxiety, depression, and stress; statistically significant (p < 0.001).
