THE RESULTS OF ADVISORY AND CARE FOR PATIENTS AFTER FEMTOSECOND LASER SURGERY AT SAIGON EYE HOSPITAL-HANOI 1, 2022-2023

Abstract

Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 231 patients with refractive who received Femtosecond Laser surgery at Saigon Eye Hospital - Hanoi from 7/2/22 to 2/2023. Results: The average age of the study group was 24.98±5.41, most of them were female, accounting for 64.9%. Most of them have intermediate, college, and university education, accounting for the highest rate of 84.9%, and the highest proportion of officials and employees with 50.2% living in urban areas (98.3%). There are 90.9% have astigmatism and myopia; 8.7% myopia; 0.4% astigmatism. More than 80% of patients have good knowledge about living regimen, 100% have knowledge about medication administration (time eye dropping, times per day), 100% have knowledge about doctor's appointment schedule. The percentage of patients with general knowledge reached 84.0%. 100% of patients were guided by nurses on pain relief measures to reduce eye edema after surgery. 100% of patients were assessed the status of eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, visual acuity and instructed measures to reduce pain, reduce edema... 100% of patients received psychological care. 100% of patients were fully consulted on living regimen, medication and follow-up examination schedule. Conclusion: After Femtosecond Laser surgery 100% of patients improved their visual acuity good and excellent, 91.8% of patients received adequate care, 100% of patients were satisfied with the care, consultation and guidance of the nurses.
