Abstract

Objective: To describe the knowledge and attitudes about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases among students at Phu Luong High School in Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. Methods: A cross-sectional study in 598 students of Phu Luong high school. Results: (1) The percentage of students with poor knowledge about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases is 32.9%. (2) The percentage of students with poor attitudes about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases is 0.2%. Conclusion: Students' knowledge about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases is not really good. However, the students' attitudes about contraception and sexually transmitted diseases are quite good. There is necessary to enhance the communication and education on reproductive health for students and improve their knowledge and communication skills for staff in charge of adolescent reproductive health.
