Abstract

Buon Ma Thuot city is the most densely populated place in Dak Lak province, the number of drug retail establishments in the area is also increasing rapidly. But whether the strong growth in the number of drug retail establishments goes hand in hand with the quality. Therefore, the survey on the current status of professional activities of pharmacists at some drugstores in Buon Ma Thuot city in 2022 was carried out by cross-sectional descriptive method. The results show that in the case of selling drugs for a simple disease, information extraction skills are performed by all drugstores, on average, one drugstore asks 4.93 questions; 75.5% of drugstores do not give any advice to customers, all drugstores provide advice on drug use but mainly instruct on one-time use, 97.78% of drugstores sell drugs under their control prescribing group. In the case of selling prescription drugs, 84.4% of pharmacies did not ask any questions, no pharmacy asked about prescriptions and 91.11% of pharmacies still agreed to sell when customers did not have a prescription, 93.3% of pharmacies did not give any advice to customers, 97.56% of pharmacies did not give any instructions. Proper drug labeling is not done at all drugstores. Besides, only 11.1% of drugstores have pharmacists wearing blouses and no pharmacists wear signboards with their full name.
