Abstract

Background and Purpose: Describe the lesion morphol+ogy of vocal cord polyps through endoscopic images at the Department of Otolaryngology, Nam Dinh General Hospital. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 38 patients with confirmed diagnosis of vocal cord polyps at the Department of Otolaryngology, Nam Dinh General Hospital from January 2018 to October 2021. Results: The number of patients with polyps with peduncles, compact legs was 18/38 patients (accounting for 47.4%) and no stalks and wide legs were 20/38 patients (52.6%). The number of patients with left vocal cord polyp was 18/38, accounting for 47.4%. The number of patients with right vocal cord polyp was 20/38, accounting for 52.6%. There are 2/38 patients with vocal cord polyps in the anterior third, accounting for 5.3%. There are 36/38 patients with vocal cord polyps in the middle third, accounting for 94.7%. None of the patients had vocal cord polyps in the posterior third. The number of patients with small vocal polyps was 9/38 cases, accounting for 23.7%. The number of patients with moderate vocal cord polyps was 29/38, accounting for 76.3%. None of the patients had large vocal cord polyps. Conclusion:  The study initialdescribes the lesion morphology of vocal cord polyps.
