Abstract

Purpose: Describe the culture and antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria isolated from specimen of fascial space infection. Methods: Randomized clinical trial study. Result: Maxillofacial infection is mostly odontogenic, 78,4% of cases identify 1 species, 21,6% identify more than 1 species. Thirteen species was identified, the most common is Streptococcus spp. In 24,3% of cases, antibiotic was changed, mostly to Ciprofloxacin or Imipenem
