RESULT OF SURGERY FOR POSTTRAUMATIC THORACOLUMBAR KYPHOSIS

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the result of surgery for posttraumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis. Subjects and methods: 31 patients diagnosed posttraumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis at Spinal department of Viet Duc University Hospital from May 2020 to May 2021. Results: 50% of patients was perform by SPO’s technique, 41,2% of patients was perform by P.O’s technique and 8,8% of patients was perform by PSO’s technique. The mean surgical time was 101,62 ± 28,46 mins, and the mean intra-operative blood loss was 308,8 ± 238,2 ml. The intra-operative complication included 5,9% dural tears, and near complication had 8,8% superficial wound infection. Neurological functions improved on 6 months completely. The mean VAS for backpain improved from 7,2 to 1,1 and ODI score decrease 63,5% to 11,8% at 6 months follow up. Conclusion: Results of surgery for posttraumatic thoracolumbar kyphosis were satisfactory, this study must be following and evaluating for a longtime to evaluate kyphosis correction and follow the far complications.
