SITUATION OF ELECTROLYTE DISORDERS IN CIRRHOSIS PATIENTS TREATED AT THANH BA DISTRICT MEDICAL CENTER

Abstract
Aims: To study electrolyte disorders in cirrhosis patients at Thanh Ba District Medical Center. Subjects and Methods: A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study on 53 cirrhotic patients at Thanh Ba District Medical Center from February 2021 to December 2022. Results: The mean age in the study group was 53.7 years old. Male accounted for 90.6%, female accounted for 9.4%. Hyponatremia accounted for 47.2%, and hypokalemia accounted for 43.4%, and hyperkalemia accounted for 5.7%. There was no association between electrolyte disorders and severity of cirrhosis and complications of cirrhosis. However, there were 2 deaths with hyponatremia, and 3 deaths with hyperkalemia.
