STUDENT’S DENTAL CARIES AT HERMANN GMEINER, HA NOI INTER – LEVEL SCHOOL IN 2023

Abstract

Over the past decades, school children in Vietnam have had access to information on how to take care of their teeth through mass media activities. In addition, the children are also taken care of by school-based dental care activities. Hermann Gmeiner, Ha Noi inter-level school is one of the schools that focus on school-based dental care activities and preventive dental treatment for students. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the status of dental caries in student to provide data for national prevention programs. Through research and analysis of data on dental caries in students 15 years old in 2023, we can confirm that: - 100% of students brush their teeth every day, 44.3% of the students rinsed their mouths and 39.2% of them used other oral hygiene methods to help brush their teeth, 22.8% of students used dental floss. - The percentage of students who brush their teeth twice a day or more accounts for 86.1%. - The majority of students in grade 9 do not go to regular dental check-ups, accounting for 54.4%. The number of students who go for regular check-ups twice a year or more accounts for 20.3%.
