EXAMINING THE CORRELATIONS BETWEEN LIFESTYPE FACTORS AND TRADITIONAL MEDICINE CONSTITUTION TYPES IN WARD 5, DISTRICT 10, HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract
Objective: To examine the correlations between lifestype factors and traditional medicine constitution in Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study from May 2022 to the end of November 2022 on 449 volunteers aged 15 years and older living in Ward 5, District 10. Results: The prevalences of nine traditional medicine constitutions were Inherited special constitution (20%), Blood-stasis (19%), Yin-deficiency (19%), Qi-depressed (18%), Qi-deficiency (15%), Yang-deficiency (12%), Phlegm-wetness (8%), Wetness-heat (6%), Normality (5%). Normality constitution was associatied with sex, exercise, insomnia; Qi-deficiency constitution was associatied with sex, smoking; Yin-deficiency constitution was associatied with sex, smoking, using alcohol; Wetness-heat constitution was associatied with sex, smoking, Qi-depressed and Inherited special constitutions were associatied with sex, insomnia, smoking, using alcohol; Blood-stasis constitution was associatied with exercise; Phlegm-wetness constitution was associatied with smoking. Conclusion: In ward 5, district 10, Ho Chi Minh city, Inherited special constitution, Blood-stasis, Yin-deficiency are the majority in traditional medicine constitutions. The relationship between traditional medicine constitutions and lifestype factors was confirmed.
