Abstract

Objectives: Review some clinical, paraclinical characteristics of torsion ovarian tumor. Subjects and methods: From January 2019 to December 2022, 36 patients were diagnosed with torsion ovarian tumor at 103 Military Hospital. Results: The median age at presentation was 31,86±10,76, those between the ages of 20 and 35 are highest percentage (61,11%). Most of them did not have surgical history (72,22%). All patients complained of low abdominal pain. Nausea and vomit were the second common symtoms of torsion ovarian tumor diseased (47,21%). Physical examination revealed tumor, accout for one hundred percents and they were usually 5 to 10 centimetres in size (83,33%). Torsion of ovarian tumor was more common (66,67%). The most images were anechonic (41,67%) and mix-echogenic mass (36,11%) with little or no Doppler flow of ovarian vessel on ultrasound. The size of tumors which had the highest percent torsion are 5 to 10 centimetres. Conclusion: This study shows that torsion ovarian tumor was usually a disease encountered in women of childbearing but also occurs in childhood and in the postmenopausal period. Abdominal pain, nausea and vomit were the most common symtoms of torsion ovarian tumor diseased. On ultralsound, the size of tumors were 5 to 10 centimetres with little or no Doppler flow of ovarian vessel.
