INTRADURAL LUMBAR DISC HERNIATION: CASE REPORT AND LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract
Lumbar intradural disk herniation (IDH) is a rare but serious complication of spinal disk protrusions. Diagnosis is still difficult despite current neuroradiologic imaging techniques and their surgical treatment requires a transdural approach. A 59 years old male, who had low back pain and radiculopathy L2 pain of 1 week duration. Neurological examination showed strength L2 2/5. The patients underwent surgery and in this case a hard mass was palpated through the dura. The patients experienced immediate postoperative relief of back pain following surgery. His neurologic deficit returned.
