Abstract

Objectives: To describe the knowledge, attitude and practice of using Oresol of mothers whose children under 5 years of age haVe diarrhea at the Pediatrics Department of Ha Dong General Hospital in 2022. Subjects and methods: A descriptiVe cross- sectional study. Horizontal analysis of 150 mothers with children with acute diarrhia who were hospitalized from NoVember 1, 2022 to March 30, 2023 by questionnaires and ORS practice obserVations. Results: 78.7% of mothers had correct knowledge


about using ORS solution and 21.3% of mothers had incorrect knowledge about using ORS solution. 71.3% of mothers haVe a good attitude about using ORS solution, 28.7% of mothers haVe a bad attitude about using ORS solution. 57.5%, the percentage of mothers with poor ORS practice was 42.7%. There is a relationship between the number of times of caring for children with diarrhea with the knowledge, attitude and practice of using Oresol of mothers with children under 5 years old with acute diarrhea. There is a relationship between mother's cognitiVe performance and mother's practice of using ORS Conclusion: Mother's knowledge, attitude and sincerity about ORS is quite high. HoweVer, her knowledge, attitude and practice Mothers' use of ORS to treat diarrhea needs to be further improVed, thereby improVing the quality of care and treatment, and at the same time contributing to the preVention and care of diarrhea for children right away. at home.
