CLINICAL FEATURES, BRAIN IMAGING OF CEREBRAL VENOUS THROMBOSIS PATIENT IN VIETDUC UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cerebral venous thrombosis is an uncommon disease with variety of symptoms. The diagnosis method is magnetic resonance venography. Objectives: To describe clinical features and to illustrate brain magnetic resonance venography. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study in the patients who were diagnosed with cerebral venous thrombosis at VietDuc University Hospital from May 2021 to June 2023. Results: 95.4% headache (59,1% with alone sign, 13,6% with vomitting, nausea; 9,1% with disturbances of consciousness and focal neurological signs); only 4,6% had isolated hemiplegia. 68,2% had no risk factors for venous thrombosis transverse sinus 54,6%; sigmoid sinus 50%, superior longitudinal sinus 36,4%, internal carotid 22,7%. Scattered rest were found in cortical veins, cavernous sinuses, rectilinear sinuses, and veins of Galen. Conclusion: Cerebral venous thrombosis has mainly subacute onset, diverse clinical and imaging features.
