IMPACT OF COVID - 19 ON MENTAL HEALTH AMONG HANOI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

Objective: A practical study Assessing the impact of Covid-19 on mental health of students at Hanoi Medical University during 2021- 2022. Research Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 1253 students. Results: The proportion of students at Hanoi Medical University who doubted about Covid-19 accounted for 45,89%. The overall mean score of depressive disorder is 12,88 ± 9,2, anxiety is 12,36 ± 9,09, stress is 13,49 ± 9,11. The prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress disorders was 67,21%, 68,40%, and 26,42%, respectively. The severity of major depressive and anxiety disorders is moderate, for major stress disorders is severity. Associated factors for depression and anxiety included gender and school grade (p<0.05). Grade, science and suspected Covid - 19 status are factors related to the stress status of the study subjects (p<0.05). Conclusion: The Covid - 19 pandemic, especially the 4th period of separation, affects the problems of depression, anxiety and stress disorders of students at Hanoi Medical University. There are several factors associated with these statuses such as a student's gender, grade, science, and Covid-19 status.
