Abstract

Objectives: Assess on clinical symptoms and laboratory results of women with menorrhagia underwent endometrial curettage at Outpatients departments of NHOG. Subjects and methods: Descriptive observational study on 153 patients with menorrhagia had been examined and then engaged in endometrial curettage procedure from 9/2022 to 6/2023. Results: The mean age was 46,16±7,44 (24-69), menopaused women accounted for 19 (12,4%). Histological results: endometrial hyperplasia without atypia was 53 (34,6%), endometrium without specific lesion was 56 (36.6%). There were 2 cases atypical endometrial hyperplasia, 7 cases endometrial carcinoma. There was significant difference in endometrial thickness but no difference in bleeding time and anemia level between types of histological results Conclusions: Histological results after endometrial curettage showed that the main cause of menorrhagia is hormones disorder, the next is endometrial hyperplasia without atypia. Ultrasound of endometrial thickness is an essential diagnostic tool that need to be done before the procedure.
