Abstract

The study applied rat ulcerative colitis model induced by TNBS/ Ethanol according to Morris to evaluate the therapeutic effects of PH with Pentasa. Results: PH with Pentasa showed significant improvement in the anatomical and histological structure of large intestinal mucosal, clinical disease activity index include Wallcea, Neurath, Vilaseca in PH with Pentasa group were no statistically significant difference compared to control group (P>0.05), but were significant difference compared with the vehicle group and the monotherapy group (P<0.05). Conclusion: PH extract combined with Pentasa has the effect of improving the treatment effectiveness of ulcerative colitis.
