THE PREVALENCE OF PERIODONTAL DISEASE IN HIV/AIDS PATIENTS AT DONG DA GENERAL HOSPITAL, HANOI

Abstract
The study aimed to determine the prevalence of peridontal disease in HIV/AIDS patients at Dong Da General Hospital, Hanoi. A total of 110 HIV positive out-patients were screened for the periodontal status by means of a questionaire and intraoral exam. The study showed a 78,18% of prevalence of periodontal disease with no difference between male and female. There were significant associations between periodontitis and relevant factors such as: CD4 cell and ARV-treatment time.
