Abstract

Objective: to evaluate effect of “Thân thống trục ứ thang” with electro-acupuncture on treament of scapulohumeral syndrome by cervical spondylosis. Subjects and methods: 50 volunteered patients aging over 30 diagnosed with scapulohumeral syndrome by cervical spondylosis, regardless of gender or occupation, were participated in the study. Researchers combined using “Thân thống trục ứ thang” with electro-acupuncture, comparing the results after 15 days treatment. Result: 86% of the patients received good and moderate outcomes. The VAS score decreased from 6.64 ± 0.11 (score) before treatment to 4.04 ± 0.14 (point) after 7 days and 1.82 ± 1.17 (point) after 15 days of treatment; The NPQ score decreased from 19.26 ± 0.4 (score) before treatment to 11.60 ± 0.53 (score) after 7 days and 4.80 ± 0.48 (score) after 15 days of treatment, the difference was statistically significant. The amplitude of activity of the cervical spine also has improved the better than before treatment. Conclusion: the treating method using “Thân thống trục ứ thang” combined with electro-acupuncture show pleasing outcome during treatment for the scapulohumeral syndrome by cervical spondylosis.
