THE REALITY OF VIOLENCE BY INTIMATE PARTNERS AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN IN LIEN CHIEU DISTRICT, DA NANG CITY

Abstract

Objective: Describe prevalance of violence by intimate partners among pregnant women in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city in 2023. Methods: a cross-sectional study which interviewd 342 mothers who had a child under 6 months old at health stations from February to April 2023. Results: The prevalance of being violated by husband among pregnant women was 20.8% of physical violence, 26.6% of mental abuse, and 13.7% of sexual violence. About 32.5% of women had at least one type of violence during pregnancy. Conclusion: The rate of husband violence among pregnant women in Lien Chieu, Da Nang city in 2023 was high. Therefore, there is a need for building support networks and designing appropriate interventions to improve the health of pregnant women and children.
