Abstract

Objective: The study aims to describe job orientation after graduation of final year students of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Hanoi Medical University, 2022-2023. Methods: A cross-sectional description on 121 final year students majoring in Doctor of Preventive Medicine and Bachelor of Public Health, Hanoi Medical University, 2022-2023. Results: 52.1% of students have orientation after graduation to go to work as soon as they have the opportunity, 30.6% continue to study. Students in the field of Preventive Medicine and Public Health who intend to do the right major are 54.1% and 63.9%, respectively. The rate of employment orientation for State Health is 31.4%, Private healthcare is 22.3% and NGO is 15.7%. 62% of students want to work in Hanoi. Priority criteria when choosing a workplace is a good working environment with 79.3% and professional development opportunities with 69.4%. Conclusions: After graduation, most Preventive Medicine and Public Health students are oriented to work as soon as they have the opportunity and follow their trained specialties. Percentage of students who are oriented to work at the provincial level or above, especially in Hanoi. Priority criteria when choosing a workplace is a good working environment and professional development.
