Abstract

Aim: This study investigated the possibility of using the Vietnamese version of the post-traumatic stress disorder assessment questionnaire on final-year students at Hanoi Medical University during the COVID-19 pandemic from March to May 2020. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional study used Post traumatic stress disorder Symptom Scale- Self Report (PSS-SR) on 68 final-year students which were studying at Hanoi Medical University in 2020. Using CFA model and reliability test to validate the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. Results: According to the results of the reliability test, the questions of the PSS-SR scale all have the Cronbach Alpha coefficient that is acceptable in terms of reliability (greater than the required level of 0.6). The correlation coefficient of variables - sum (adjusted) of the observed variables meet the requirements (above 0.30). The CFA test shows that the model has degree of freedom of 116, the chi-square test value = 235.914 with p-value < 0.005 and the indexes indicate that the model fits the data (CFI = 0.808; RMSEA = 0.124; SRMR= 0.08). All three components achieve unidirectionality. Conclusion: The research topic has tested the Vietnamese version of the Vietnamese version of the PSS-SR (Post-traumatic stress disorder Symptom Scale-Self Report) with 17 questions assessing 3 components: (1) Recall, (2) Arousal, (3) Avoidance.
