Abstract

Objective: To assess the diabetes risk according to the ModAsian-FINDRISC scale and some related factors in people aged 40-69 years in 2 communes of Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province in 2020. Subject and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 1088 people aged 40-69 years old in Nghi Thinh and Nghi Thai communes, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. Interviews and anthropometric measurements were used to collect data and ModAsian-FINDRISC scale was used to assess the risk of progressing to type 2 diabetes over the next 10 years. Conclusions: The proportion of people aged 40-69 years old in 2 communes at risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the next 10 years was 3.70% (2.94% in men and 3.92% in women). Age, self-existing hypertension, and family history of diabetes associated with the risk of developing into type 2 diabetes in the next 10 years of people 40-69 year old in 2 communes.
