EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERVENTION SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE CAPACITY FOR HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES EXAMINATION AND TREATMENT OF GRASSROOT HEALTH WORKERS

Abstract

Research on training intervention to improve capacity for hypertension and diabetes examination and treatment 59 grassroot health workers at Thuan Chau district (intervention group) and 52 grassroot health workers at Mai Son district (control group). The research objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of solution to improve capacity for hypertension and diabetes examination of grassroot health workers after 1 year of intervention. The results after 12 months of intervention showed that: good knowledge level about hypertension and diabetes examination and treatment of health workers at Thuan Chau district increased from 57.6% to 81.4% with efficiency index (EI) was 41.3%; p<0.05. The good attitude level increased from 69.5% to 88.1% with EI was 26.8%; p<0.05. Good skills level increased from 45.8% to 86.4% with EI was 88.6%; p<0.05. Training intervention solutions to improve capacity for hypertension and diabetes examination and treatment combined with hand-held supervision had brought an intervention effectiveness (IE) on knowledge was 34.7%; the IE for attitude was 15.4% and the IE for skills was 76.3%. Training intervention solution to improve capacity for hypertension and diabetes examination and treatment at Thuan Chau district are achieved high results.
