Abstract
Objective: To describe the paraclinical characteristics of endogenous endophthalmitis in children at National Eye Hospital. Methods: The study was conducted in children aged 0-18 years who were diagnosed and treated for endogenous endophthalmitis at National Eye Hospital in 2016-2020 period. Retrospective study described a series of diseases. The medical records were collected and recorded information related to ophthalmologic ultrasound and microbiology test. Results: The majority of patients (91,09%) were detected vitreous opacity on ophthalmological ultrasound. Gram-positive cocci is the most common cause detected in both aqueous and vitreous sample (31.4% và 23.7%). Conclusion: The majority of patients were detected vitreous opacity on ophthalmological ultrasound. Gram-positive cocci is the most common cause of endogenous endophthalmitis in children.
